Who are we? Do the puppies come with papers (pedigree), and have the parents undergone health testing?
We are an ÖKV/FCI-recognized breeding establishment and our dogs are registered with official pedigrees. Accordingly, all of our breeding dogs have undergone the health examinations, tests and show evaluations required by the association in order to obtain breeding approval.
In addition, it is important to us to select our breeding dogs not only according to the formal requirements, but also based on health, temperament, character and suitability for breeding.

How can I get a puppy from the “du Quartier des Bois” breeding program?
If you are interested in a puppy from our breeding program, please send me an email at regina.wagner@vetderm.at.
I personally answer every enquiry, usually within 1–2 days. If you do not receive a reply, your message probably did not reach me – please simply send it again.
After your initial contact, I will send you a questionnaire. Please complete it and return it to me. We can then get to know each other and discuss together whether a puppy from our breeding program could be a good match for you and your lifestyle.

Can I visit the breeding establishment?
Yes, of course! I am very happy to meet prospective puppy owners personally – ideally before a puppy is reserved.
During a visit, you can get to know our farm, the parent dogs and, of course, our other Barbets. At the same time, we get the opportunity to form a first personal impression of each other.
The only exception is immediately before a birth and during the first few weeks of the puppies’ lives, when I do not receive visitors. During this time, the peace, quiet and health of the mother and her puppies take priority.
Otherwise, visits are always very welcome by prior appointment.

Can I choose my own puppy?
No – I make the final allocation of the puppies.
This does not mean that your wishes do not matter – quite the opposite. I want to know as precisely as possible what you are looking for in your future dog, what requirements you have and what your everyday life is like.
During the puppies’ development, I get to know each puppy very closely and can therefore assess its personality, temperament, needs and development. During your visits, however, you only experience the puppies for a very limited amount of time.
I therefore decide which puppy is the best match for you and your living environment. My aim is not to select the “prettiest, fastest, best-behaved, biggest, smallest, etc.” puppy, but rather the puppy that is the best fit for its future home.

I am on the waiting list – what happens next?
As soon as a bitch has been mated and the pregnancy has been confirmed, I contact the prospective puppy owners on the waiting list and inform them about the current situation.
After the puppies are born, I contact all interested families who are still on the waiting list and provide information about the number, sex and development of the puppies. At this point, you can confirm your commitment once again or decide that you no longer wish to have a puppy.
Those who subsequently make a firm commitment to a puppy can, if they wish, be added to the WhatsApp group for the respective litter.
Throughout the puppies’ time with us, you will regularly receive photos, videos and information about their development. The groups also remain active after the puppies have gone to their new homes and are greatly appreciated by many families – not least because the owners can exchange experiences with one another and continue to benefit from support with any questions relating to their dogs.

Do I have to pay a deposit if I register my interest?
No.
I deliberately do not work with deposits or reservation fees. Being placed on my list of prospective puppy owners is based on trust and commitment.

When can I pick up my puppy?
The puppies are not placed in their new homes before they are 8 weeks old.
We will arrange the exact collection date individually and in good time via the WhatsApp group or directly with the future puppy owners.
If you intend to take your puppy abroad, please make sure to familiarise yourself with the entry and import requirements of your respective country well in advance. These requirements can vary from country to country and may include specific regulations concerning vaccinations, microchipping, rabies vaccination and waiting periods.

What do I receive with my puppy, and what has the puppy already received?
At the time of collection, the puppy will already be microchipped, dewormed several times and have received its first vaccination. You will, of course, receive an EU pet passport with your puppy.
You will also receive a starter package, which includes not only the food your puppy is accustomed to for the first few days, but also a few other surprises.
The pedigree will be sent to you by post at a later date, as the official documents are usually not yet available at the time the puppies leave for their new homes.
